Frequently Asked Questions
What areas do you serve?

Appointments outside this radius are subject to a $30 travel fee.
If you're unsure whether your area qualifies, please feel free to reach out—I’m happy to help.
How often should my dog's nails be trimmed?
Most dogs do best with nail care every 3–5 weeks, but every dog is different. Factors like age, walking surfaces, activity level, and nail growth rate all play a part. Seniors, small dogs, and less active pups often need more frequent nail care to stay comfortable. Regular nail care keeps your dog moving well, reduces pressure on joints, and helps prevent long-term discomfort. I’m always happy to chat about the ideal maintenance plan for your dog.
Do I need to be home for my dog’s nail care session?
You’re welcome to stay, but it’s not required. Many dogs relax more easily with fewer distractions.
As long as your dog is comfortable and you’ve provided safe access to your home, I can complete the appointment independently. You’ll receive an update afterward so you know how everything went.
Do I need to prepare anything before the appointment?
A quiet, well-lit space with minimal distractions works best. I will come with my kit, which includes a non-slip mat, some yummy treats, and options for our nail care session. If your dog has treats they prefer or need for dietary concerns, they are always welcome for positive reinforcement.
What if my dog doesn’t let anyone touch their paws?
That’s absolutely okay. The focus is on building trust at your dog’s pace.
Early sessions may prioritize gentle desensitization, helping your dog associate paw handling with safety and rewards. Many dogs benefit from 3–5 Comfort Sessions before they’re ready for a full nail care session, and that’s a normal, healthy progression.
What if my dog is nervous or fearful?
Many dogs feel anxious about nail care, and that’s completely normal. With 13 years of professional canine experience—including service dog training and fear-free handling principles—every session is approached with patience, calm energy, and gentle techniques.
Breaks are given as needed, and positive reinforcement helps your dog feel safe and understood.
